Even though I gave up my lash-extension habit years ago, I sometimes miss the extra-long, extra-fluttery results I'd get. And while I can't create the exact magic at home, there are some impressive, extension-esque options that can really hold their own. Mascara, of course, is one of our all-time-favorite ways to enhance our lashes, but if you're looking for a little extra oomph, false eyelashes can be an excellent way to go, too. That said, only the very best eyelashes truly mimic professional lash extensions, so it's important to be choosywhile shopping. Luckily, many of the best brands offer tons of styles and lengths, so you can find a vibe that meshes with your beauty aesthetic.

We know there's a surplus of options on the market to choose from, so we lent a helping hand by spilling the beans on our favorite false eyelashes. Keep scrolling for the best options money can buy.

Best Overall: Lashify

Lashify

Control Kit

More often than not, all of our favorite celebrities are wearing these layerable, very real-looking gossamer lashes from Lashify when they're walking the red carpet. The kits might be a bit more expensive than the average set of strips you can find at your drugstore, but the ultimate effect is so damn believable and eye-catching. They're highly customizable, and eachkit comes stocked with everything you could possibly need for professional-level application: a control wand, three sets of lashes, a bonding agent, glass finishing coat, storage case.
Pros: Easy removal, can be worn for one day or several, vegan, cruelty-free, every kitcomes with three sizes of gossamer lashes so you can best determine your preferred size, kit comes with everything you need for application
Cons: Expensive, can take some time to get the application down, application can be time-consuming
Compelling review: "Okay, first, this is not a paid review. I’m also not a makeup artist and just ordered the control box and hoped I could do it. Omg it’s so easy!!!! Watch the tutorials—but holy crap. I was getting lashes "done” and omg the irritation the mistakes, the time, and the money. No lie on my first application they came out great, and I know I will get better and better at it. I can’t believe how well it came out. I truly can’t. I’ll be ordering more lashes very soon. I’m still stunned."

Most Natural-Looking: LoveSeen

LoveSeen

Jack Eyelashes in Black

In case you missed it, Jenna Lyons burst onto the beauty scene when she debuted her very own false-eyelash brand, LoveSeen. (You can read every last detail about the collectionhere!) WWW HQ is obsessed with the beautiful, natural-looking options, and it's easy to choose from a variety of options, many of which come in your choice of either Black or Brown/Black for a slightly more surreptitious finish. If we had to play favorites, we'd recommend Jack (this is also the model Lyons wears most often) or the two new, extra-voluminous models,Drew 3D and Noor 3D.

Pros: Available in two colors, tapered fibers, can last up to 10 wears, made with synthetic nylon, free shipping and returns, eco-friendly packaging, cruelty-free, the brand has a helpfullash quiz to help customers find their best style
Cons: Glue and lash application tool sold separately, expensive
Compelling review: "Jack is subtle and natural, but gives an enhanced eye look. These are my go to lashes. So easy to put on and light weight. I don't even know that they are on—a big plus as I have allergies and skin sensitivities."

Lilly Lashes

3D Faux Mink Lashes

Wespotted them on former First Lady Michelle Obama at President Joe Biden's inauguration, and they've also been spotted around townwithA-list namessuch as Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and so on. The selection is glamorous and gives you a 3D effect for lots of oomph and depth.
Pros: Vegan, plenty of styles to choose from, longer and thicker for a slightly more noticeable result
Cons: Glue and lash glue sold separately, expensive
Compelling review: "Best full glam lashes! You can’t go wrong with these, and I always end up repurchasing even though they’re pricey because they are worth it."

Best for Mature Eyes: MAC

These Falsies Are So Good You'll Forget How Much You Miss Your Lash Extensions (5)

MAC

33 Lash False Lashes

We'll just say this: MAC is the OG beauty brand when it comes to pretty much everything. MAC will always be one of the absolute best in the arena on the false-lash front, and while there are plenty of new and exciting brands we love, the brand's signature cool factor and diversity in terms of styles, lengths, and colors will be loved forever and ever.
Pros: Handmade, lots of styles to choose from, comfortable on the eye
Cons: Glue sold separately
Compelling review: "I am middle aged and have never worn false lashes. Decided to try them just for fun. The sales associate picked these out for me. They are so comfortable that the first time I wore them, I forgot I had them on. Really makes my eyes pop and helps me feel more feminine. I would definitely recommend these."

Best for Beginners: Camara Aunique Beauty

Camara Aunique Beauty

Ruth Faux Mink Lash

Word on the street is that Porsche Cooper, makeup artist to starssuch as Mary J. Blige and Joan Smalls, is obsessed with lashes from Black-owned brand Camara Aunique. In fact, she recently told The Cut how fabulous they are: "The bands on these lashes are superior—they are invisible and über-flexible, which allows for an easy and seamless application on the lash line without the need for eyeliner." Um, sold.
Pros: Easy application, great for all eye shapes, can be used for up to 25 wears
Cons: Accessories sold separately, expensive
Compelling review: No reviews available. See the quote from makeup artist Porsche Cooper above.

Best for Hooded Eyes: VelourLashes

These Falsies Are So Good You'll Forget How Much You Miss Your Lash Extensions (7)

Velour Lashes

Effortless - No Trim - Natural Lash Collection

There's a lot to love about Velour Lashes. For one,the brand uses a super-innovative lashfiber that makes for an incredibly natural-looking result, and its lashes are ethically sourced and cruelty-free. If you care for them correctly, one set will last for an average of 20 applications. For hooded eyes, look for lash styles (like this one!) that have shorter fibers on the inner corner and gradually get longer as they work their way to the outer corner.
Pros: Can last for 20 (or more) applications, lashes use ethically sourced materials, cruelty-free, natural-looking, vegan
Cons: Expensive
Compelling review: "Great for girlies that wear glasses! I love falsies but they always rub against my lenses and these are so gorgeous and are the perfect length! I sometimes even forget I'm wearing them. They look so natural and are incredibly comfortable to wear!"

Best Drugstore: Ardell

Ardell Lashes & Beauty

Lash Demi Wispies 5 Pair Multipack

Next to the Lashify Gossamers (which are more of an investment) that we mentioned above, Ardell's iconic Wispies are probably the most used among pro makeup artists when they're prepping a celebrity client for a shoot or red carpet. They're super affordable, and although there are tons of options sure to strike every kind of fancy, we'll always be besotted withits line is Wispies. We keep both the regular and the Demi length, which is a touch shorter, on hand for all of our faux-lash needs. (Plus, you really can't beat five pairs of eyelashes for just $12.)
Pros: Affordable, loved by celebs and makeup artists, easy to apply and remove
Cons: Don't last as long
Compelling review: "These lashes are perfect! I use them for everyday looks. They're not to long or to dramatic, but they just give my lashes that perfect fuller effect without actually looking like fake lashes. They last a while if you take care of them. I buy the multipack and it lasts me a whole month. I wear each pair for about a week."

Best Magnetic: Glamnetic

Glamnetic

Venus

Glamnetic has quickly become the brand when it comes to magnetic lashes, and really, they're the ultimate, foolproof option for anyone who doesn't want to bother with the sometimes frustrating gluing process. (The brand also has the best assortment of styles we've maybe ever seen.) The lashes are made from a high-quality synthetic fiber and comfortable-to-wear bands surreptitiously feature six lightweight magnets for maximum staying power and hold. What's more, if they're well taken care of, your lashes can be worn up to 60 times without needing to be replaced.
Pros: Durable (can be worn up to 60 times), no-mess magnetic liner is easier to use than glue, lots of styles to choose from, vegan-friendly
Cons: Magnetic liner sold separately, expensive
Compelling review: "Great shape and length.I could wear these all day for work and all night out. I have gone through two sets, and the quality has been awesome."

Best Individuals & Trio Clusters: Kiss

Kiss

Lash Couture Faux Lash Extensions, Venus

Individual lashes are game-changing if you're looking for longer and/or dense-looking lashes without the sometimes heavy side effect of strips. Most brands make their own iterations, but we're especially fond of the options from Kiss, which have a flat (versus knotted) band at the bases for easier application and a maxed-out extension effect. (That said, if you prefer a knotted band, they make those, too—see below!)
Pros: Affordable, flat-band technology for a smoother, more natural-looking result, reusable, easy to apply
Cons: Glue sold separately
Compelling review: "I bought these when I was trying to learn how to do my lashes so I got a cheap set. But they turned out so great once I got the hang of them, that they're my go to set now. They're great!"
